The opportunity
We are looking for One (1) Engineer Transformer Maintenance in Oyu Tolgoi LLC – Electrical Services Department based Oyu Tolgoi Site with 14 days on and 14 days off.
Ensure the reliable operation and availability of dry and oil-filled transformers and critical electrical equipment at the Oyu Tolgoi mine, including auxiliary equipment directly affecting them. This includes ensuring the reliability and maintenance of electrical equipment impacting the productivity of the mine’s electrical supply system, concentrator plant, open-pit, and underground mining operations, resolving issues, and testing and implementing new technologies within the specified scope.
What the role entails:
- Support the operations of the SIS, Electrical Services Department
- Take immediate action during unplanned outages and stoppages
- Develop, review, and optimize maintenance tactics, standard work procedures, and guidelines
- Conduct preliminary analysis and research to improve equipment efficiency
- Perform root cause analysis on equipment failures
- Provide mutual support with other department teams
- Communicate with equipment manufacturers and suppliers
- Indirectly supervise the activities of repairmen and senior staff
- Provide professional assistance to high and low voltage and precision measurement teams
- Support the development of the company’s safety and leadership culture
- Focus on documentation, monitoring, and testing
- Research, implement, install, test, and commission new technologies 2.4.
What you will need for this role
- Transformer and Electrical Equipment Maintenance.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent or higher education in Electrical Engineering from a college or university program.
- Practical experience in the field or accumulated work experience through on-the-job training.
- Intermediate computer skills including proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel and Office suite
