The opportunity
We are looking for one (1) Engineer Software in Oyu Tolgoi LLC – Information Technology department based in Ulaanbaatar.
The primary purpose of this role is to provide services and support on software development activities of the functional area in line with the company policies and procedures to achieve the team’s objectives and targeted plan.
What the role entails
- Analyze software requirements provided by users and project stakeholders from various areas and provide feedback as to what can be improved/changed
- Develop and deploy traditional and Kubernetes-based applications based on the approved requirements andperform unit and integration testing.
- Understanding and complying with all IT policies, standards and procedures
- Ensure software and system administration processes are followed as per policies set for each function
- Plan and execute software version upgrade releases
- Follow regional and global corporate standards and practices
- Liaise with vendors and support groups
- Designing, coding, testing, debugging, configuring and documenting software as per project requirement.
- Keep up to date with the new technologies and software products.
- Provide technical consultancy as required to projects requiring architecture and design assistance.
- Work with various vendors to understand new technologies and products released and feed information to the management and project team.
- Understand functional and systems architecture of various technical systems that OT IT Engineering team will implement
- Ensure software projects come in on time and under budget
- Work with the project team members in troubleshooting and identifying fixes for project related software problems and ideas
- Other project related technical tasks as requested
What you will need for this role
- Undergraduate or equivalent or higher education obtained Computing or Information technology or a discipline relevant to the software engineering function
- At least 5 years relevant experience, or otherwise the significant practical experience and on the job training.
- Advance knowledge of software engineering practices, software development lifecycles, and software development processes. Experience with DevOps practice and tools preferred
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Software Development language, tools and environment.
- Knowledge of selected programming languages: C#, ASP.NET Core, .NET, ReactJS, NodeJS
- Strong problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis for technically challenging software issues
- Experience with Service bus, API and Messaging platform and it’s data structure and programming method preferred such as REST API, JSON, XML, MQTT, AMQP, ActiveMQ, Kafka etc.
- Experience with reporting and data integration solutions and methods
- Experience with configuring CI/CD pipelines for automatic deployment including various different testing steps such as unit testing, integration testing etc…
- Experience with MS SQL Server, Active Directory preferred
- Experience with micro-services-oriented software architecture and development preferred.
- Experience with Containerized programming and platform preferred.
- Experience with scripting such as Python, R, Powershell preferred
