The opportunity
We are looking for one (1) Engineer Plant Information (PI) in our Technical Services & Growth – Concentrator Technical Services department based at Oyu Tolgoi mine site with roster of 7 days on, 7 days off, and 5 days on 2 days off in Ulaanbaatar.
The primary purpose of this role is to uphold the consistent availability and functionality of plant information (PI-Plant Information) and automation systems (DCS-Distributed Control System, APC-Advanced Process Control) while also overseeing data management and standardization to enhance operational efficiency. It involves delivering technical services and support across concentrator plant, open pit, underground and other functional areas, adhering to company policies and procedures to align with team goals and targeted plans.
What the role entails
- Ensure the highest standard of safety performance is maintained by ensuring compliance to all regulatory requirements, Oyu Tolgoi HSE Management Systems, health and safety standards
- Continuously develop and sustain PI System and Advanced process control and DCS control system.
- Continuously evaluate and keep abreast of new technologies for improving plant performance and efficiency.
- Support stakeholders in identifying & implementing improvement opportunities.
- Engage in troubleshooting and problem-solving of complex and technically challenging issues
- Manage KPIs of responsibility areas
- Ensure the PI system and automation related documents are updated on regular basis
What you will need for this role
- Bachelor’s degree or higher degree in Data Science, Information Technology, Automation, Electrical & Electronic, or equivalent work experience
- Experience in Data Science, Information Technology, Process engineering, Mineral Processing, Process automation/Control
- Solid technical experience and knowledge of Automation systems and Mineral processing
- Good understanding of PI, DCS, PLC and SCADA system and industrial automation
- Strong technical background and skills in process analysis and statistics
- Knowledge of common industrial automation programming languages
- Teamwork and excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in Mongolian and English
