The opportunity
We are looking for one (1) Engineer Mining in Oyu Tolgoi LLC – Operational Readiness Department based Oyu Tolgoi Site with 14 days on and 14 days off.
The purpose of this role is to manage equipment-related activities and ensure efficient project delivery, aligning with company policies and procedures. This includes overseeing technical evaluations, fleet planning, and safety initiatives to support the achievement of team objectives and operational goals.
What the role entails:
- Liaison between maintenance and operations work groups for all equipment related issues
- Conduct equipment technical evaluation on underground equipment or materials to be procured
- Be involved in fleet planning and fleet management and emissions reductions
- Monitor implementation of mine plans and optimizes deployment of resources (manpower, equipment, consumables etc.) to achieve production targets
- Provide input for annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting
- Establish applicable standard working procedures and safety standards
- Chairing meetings and risk assessments as required
- Giving and seeking feedback with a level of urgency
- Advise on any equipment modifications requirements
- Analyze fleet utilization and availability
- Prepare, maintain and control standards, reports, manuals and asset inventories.
- Expand and update knowledge and skills through continuing professional development (self-directed or employer sponsored) that is consistent with the requirements of the Mongolian and international professional development guidelines.
- Manage and maintain a safe and secure work environment.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with all employees and project stakeholders.
What you will need for this role
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering: Mining, Mechanical, Electrical or other relevant discipline.
- At least 3 year’s relevant experience, or otherwise the significant practical experience and on the job training.
- At least 3 years working in an underground mining environment.
- Previous experience in project management, equipment and materials procurement, technical evaluation and doing analysis of equipment availability and utilization would be an advantage.
- Advanced level of English verbal and written skills.
- Advanced level of Microsoft Excel and Office suite skills.
- Mobile equipment reliability and maintenance engineering experience would be an advantage.
