The opportunity
We are looking for twelve (12) Engineer Mining in Oyu Tolgoi LLC – Underground Mine Development departments based Oyu Tolgoi Site with 14 days on and 14 days off.
The purpose of this role is to provide engineering services and support on mining activities of the organisational unit in line with the company policies and procedures to achieve the team’s objectives and targeted plan.
What the role entails:
- Provide visible safety leadership to workforce and team members across the Oyu Tolgoi LLC Operations.
- Promote safety culture to ensure work undertaken complies with safety legislation and applicable HSE standards.
- Enforce safety standards, processes and procedures to all site personnel.
- Ensure risks are identified, mitigated and managed in all aspects of issued work plans.
- Participate or facilitate as required in incident investigations, risk assessments, JHA’s, Safety Interactions and audits.
- Provide a point of contact for queries related to Lateral Development, mine services and concrete delivery / slickline operation.
- Representation for OTUP with regards to UDS contractor.
- Assist and manage improvement projects with the UDS contractor relating to ground support trials and sequencing, dewatering, drill and blast design and optimisation, shotcrete transportation and slickline management
- Attend, lead or run a variety of meetings associated with the Lateral Development department.
What you will need for this role
- Mining Engineering or equivalent technical discipline bachelor’s in education obtained through degrees, certificates or diplomas from colleges or universities
- Experience in underground mining is advantageous.
- Microsoft Excel and Office suite skills.
- 3D computer drafting software such as AutoCAD, Deswick or similar
- Good English verbal and written skills
- Strong problem solving abilities and communication skills
