The opportunity
We are looking for one (1) Engineer Long Range Planning in Oyu Tolgoi LLC – Underground Planning Department based Ulaanbaatar Office and Oyu Tolgoi Site with 50/50.
The purpose of this role is to provide services and support on mine planning engineering activities of the organisational unit in large complex environment in line with the company policies and procedures to achieve the department’s objectives and targeted plan.
What the role entails:
- Assist in the development and communication of Budget and Long Term Plans plans through data analysis, schedule runs, engagement sessions and documentation with the UG Technical, UG Operations and OT Integrated Planning team.
- Conduct schedule Impact Assessments to support the UG Technical Project Teams with long range design improvements and MOC’s
- Conduct compliance reporting by collecting and analyzing data to ensure adherence to long-term mine plans
- Conduct mandatory Underground inspections to verify compliance with Mine Plans and gain practical exposure to operational execution
- Assist in improvement projects by gathering data, performing analysis, and contributing to solution development
- Participate in the creation and review of work method statements, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and risk assessments in collaboration with contractors and senior engineers
- Respond to technical inquiries from other departments with support from senior team members
- Engage in training and mentorship programs to develop technical skills and gain a deeper understanding of mine planning principles
- Develop data gathering documentation and improvement initatives to ensure P50 baselining of Mine Plans
What you will need for this role
- Bachelor or higher degree in Engineering, Mining or relevant discipline.
- At least 5 years relevant experience, or otherwise the significant practical experience and on the job training.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Written and verbal elementary communication skills in English
- Ability to use Microsoft Office programs
