The opportunity

We are looking for one (1) Engineer Infrastructure in Oyu Tolgoi LLCUnderground EL and HL Construction Department based Oyu Tolgoi Site with 14 days on and 14 days off. This role is 1-years fixed term contract.

The purpose of this role is to provide engineering services and support on mining activities of the organisational unit in line with the company policies and procedures to achieve the team’s objectives and targeted plan.

What the role entails:

  • Developing mine services strategies that incorporate the life of mine requirements and provide a ‘Best for Project’ outcome.
  • Investigate the currently installed mine services systems to understand limitations and weaknesses and proactively develop solutions to mitigate these.
  • Developing appropriate QAQC auditing material to ensure consistent and reliable quality of installations.
  • Develop forecasting and budgeting tools to allow consumables usage analysis and procurement forecasts.
  • Comply with existing safety legislation and is in full compliance with applicable HSE standards and Regular safety interactions.
  • Provide input into mine planning processes (weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly) to guide underground work groups, this should follow the forecast strategy for the year.
  • Collate and prepare daily, weekly and monthly reporting and equipment planning and performance reconciliation.
  • Provides detailed documentation of the work performed. These documents will be used for reference within the group and for communication outside the mine planning group.
  • Supporting the Mine Operating System and promoting a culture of plan compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Expand and update knowledge and skills through continuing professional development (self-directed or employer sponsored) that is consistent with the requirements of the Mongolian and international professional development guidelines.

What you will need for this role

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in similar roles
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Good understanding of piping and piping calculations.
  • Good computer skills including proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel, Office suite and have ability to learn other similar programs;
  • English competency (both written and oral) is essential.
