The opportunity

We are looking for one (1) Engineer Electrical Reliability  in Oyu Tolgoi LLCUG Electrical & Instrumentation Department based Oyu Tolgoi Site with 14 days on and 14 days off. This role is 1-years fixed term contract.

The purpose of this role is to support to ensure the optimization and reliability of assets, conducting analysis of reliability problems investigating to determine the reliability required for the particular situation considering the cost limitations for equipment up/down time of material handling system, infrastructure, water supply system of underground. In addition to developing appropriate measures, operation, and maintenance strategies, performing analysis or research on the breakdown or interruption of electrical and instrumentation equipment.

What the role entails:

  • Solves a range of straightforward problems guided by defined procedures and with guidance of Senior Engineers and Specialists.
  • Conducts an analysis of reliability problems and investigates to determine correct method for improvement.
  • Periodic assessment of condition monitoring data to identify potential equipment failures of electrical and instrumentation and determination of required action to address the issue.
  • Participate in failure modes analysis and failure consequence determination on critical equipment.
  • Use graphs, pareto charts, histograms and other statistical tools to analyze and report asset performance.
  • Improve experience and knowledges by developing maintenance tactics as per the asset management guidelines and under review of senior engineers and take their coaches. Attend tactics development sessions using FMEA (Failure Mode Effect Analyze) / RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) methodology, guided by defined procedures and solutions.
  • Supports the development and assessment of CM and HCM related tactics and maintain these tactics in maintenance strategies.
  • Monitors Work Management processes to ensure compliance to Tactics requirements; especially PM01 schedule compliance and PM01 call compliance. Use various type of reporting and KPI, Asset Health monitoring software or systems (SAP; MMRS, Matrikon, Predicta, PI, APM etc.)
  • Gathers data from various sources and supports to Reliability engineers to Identify and close gaps in standard jobs / task lists content by monitoring PM01, PM02 and PM03 incurrence where standard jobs / task lists were not used or were not available (linked to Task List Operations or Functional Locations and comparison with the Tactics Register)

What you will need for this role

  • Bachelor or higher degree in Electrical engineering or a relevant discipline.
  • At least 2 years relevant experience, or otherwise the significant practical experience and on the job training.
  • Fluent written and speaking skills in English – Upper intermediate
  • Strong ability in Microsoft Office programs with an ability to produce high-quality documents using (in particular) Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
