The opportunity
We are looking for two (2) Engineer Condition Monitoring in Oyu Tolgoi LLC – Underground Mobile Maintenance Department based Oyu Tolgoi Site with 14 days on and 14 days off.
The Condition Monitoring Officer analyzes condition monitoring data from various sources (oil samples, gas emissions, NDT reports etc.) in order to formulate recommended actions to ensure continued safe, reliable and cost effective mobile asset performance. The role also champions best practice hydrocarbon contamination control and oil sampling techniques with the maintenance team.
What the role entails:
- Perform comprehensive analysis of mobile equipment condition monitoring data from various sources, including oil samples, gas emissions, asset health reports, and non-destructive testing (NDT) results, to detect early signs of potential failure and ensure proactive maintenance actions.
- Review and interpret oil analysis reports to identify early indicators of wear, contamination, or other issues in mobile assets, enabling early intervention to prevent unscheduled downtime.
- Integrate oil analysis data, asset health reports, and maintenance history to identify root causes of abnormal trends or failures, ensuring a holistic understanding of asset performance and potential risks.
- Raise SAP notifications to provide actionable insights and recommendations to the execution team, ensuring timely corrective actions are taken to address the root causes of emerging issues.
- Identify the root cause of abnormal trends by analyzing historical downtime and maintenance records, correlating past failures with current data to pinpoint underlying issues.
- Prioritize and schedule corrective actions based on the criticality of the event, leveraging available opportunities to reduce unplanned downtime and optimize asset availability.
- Conduct on-site visits to the field or workshops as necessary to investigate complex issues, ensuring accurate diagnosis and the implementation of effective solutions.
- Prepare and deliver monthly Hydrocarbon Management Reports, providing a comprehensive overview of key performance indicators and insights related to asset condition and fluid management, supporting data-driven decision-making.
What you will need for this role
- Undergraduate or equivalent or higher education obtained through degrees or diplomas from academic college or universities.
- Oil Analysis qualifications, Computer literacy
- Magnetic Particle Testing, Thermography, Maintenance and Reliability Knowledge.
- Intermediate computer skills including proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel and Office suite
- Ability to speak, read and write English at a functional level is a requirement.
