The opportunity
We are looking for two (2) Engineer Automation in Oyu Tolgoi LLC – Underground Electrical & Instrumentation Department based Oyu Tolgoi Site with 14 days on and 14 days off.
The purpose of this role is to provide frontline leadership and Ensures effective and consistent delivery of services on electrical and instrumentation activities of the functional area in line with the company policies and procedures to achieve the team’s objectives and targeted plan.
What the role entails:
- Performs basic Interpretation of data in accordance with set parameters to determine potential asset defects & escalate accordingly.
- Prepares asset condition & performance information to support maintenance decisions.
- Supervises trade employees in maintenance activities.
- Allocates maintenance coverage for breakdowns.
- Resolves on the job issues (with regards to planned maintenance activities, maintenance breakdowns, shutdowns, etc.)
- Monitors work practices & adherence to safety procedures to ensure safety of employees working in the area.
- Interface with the Planning Group to coordinate any scheduled work.
- Lead and implement small to medium size automation projects
- Interface with various stake holders and departments with regards to day to day and scheduled work requiremnets
- Oversee the commissioning of current & new projects
- Design, program, simulate and test automated machinery and processes in order to complete exact tasks as requested.
- Oversee the annual PM’s of fixed plant assets, including annual reports.
What you will need for this role
- Must have a bachelor’s or higher degree in electrical or automation.
- Previous experience as a maintenance engineer or related field is an advantage.
- Fluent use of English laguage, both written and oral.
- Knowledge of FS and Certified in FS training will be an advantage. Experience in instrumentation and automation, as well as at least 2 years of experience in underground mining equipment maintenance.
- Consistently utilize HSEC systems, process and equipment and speak up when you see non- compliant behavior.
- Develop an awareness of your values, strengths, and development areas through feedback and reflection.
- Follows all safety procedures while executing day-to-day activities.
- Able to create a variety of documents and forms and work on Word, Excel and PowerPoint, AutoCAD and SAP on a daily basis.
