The opportunity
We are looking for One (1) Electrician in Oyu Tolgoi LLC – UG Electrical & Instrumentation maintenance Department based Oyu Tolgoi Site with 14 days on and 14 days off.
The purpose of this position is to perform maintenance and ensure the reliability of underground mine electrical and instrumentation equipment, thereby enabling the operation department to achieve normal operation and meet planned targets
What the role entails:
- Performs maintenance on Underground fixed plant and mining development electrical and instrumentation equipment.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergencies to minimize downtime.
- Identifies defects and provides feedback on asset performance and health as per the Work Management Process and SAP system, provides feedback, and completes work orders and SWPs.
- Supports the defect elimination and RCA process and contributes to the work management analysis, asset health inspection, and maintenance.
- Ensures work management activities are undertaken in line with SAP work orders/job instructions.
- Support commissioning during various phases of the underground project.
- Follows all safety procedures while executing day-to-day activities.
- Provide visible support to the supervisor’s decisions, express opinions appropriately, and creatively initiate alternatives.
- Safe and effective support on HV & LV distribution networks, switching, substation maintenance, mobile equipment maintenance, and mining support underground. This includes planned and unplanned tasks as needed.
- Ensure all installations are done according to the C2 standard.
- Ensure follow the C1 Isolation standard.
- Ensure compliance with local, regional, and national regulations regarding electrical systems.
What you will need for this role
- Electrical Engineer certificates or diplomas from college or university, and have field experience.
- At least 3 years of electrical maintenance experience or significant practical experience and on-the-job training.
- Have experience of a HV and LV electrical and safety procedure and practice
- Read complex electrical schematics and perform troubleshooting.
- Good at computer usage skill and Microsoft Office software.
- Speak and write in English an intermediate level at least.
