The opportunity

We are looking for 4 (four)  Controller MM & C in Oyu Tolgoi LLCMine Operations Department based Oyu Tolgoi Site with 14 days on and 14 days off.

The purpose of this role is to control and provide services and support on MM&C activities of the functional area in line with the company policies and procedures to achieve the team’s objectives and targeted plan.

Responsible to optimise the haul cycle to increase productivity and reduce running costs while effectively controlling the movement of mining equipment in a coordinated manner to ensure production targets are achieved.

What the role entails:

  • Monitors slope movement.
  • Understands and follows the relevant mayday procedures.
  • Communicates with the plant manager to advise on delays in trucks or any other delay that might affect plant production.
  • Obtains maintenance plans and schedules the equipment to be brought down at the appropriate time.
  • Co-ordinates the breakdown fix process.
  • Assigns priorities for equipment fix.
  • Coordinates and schedules service and asset health checks with Fitters, Serviceman and Electricians.
  • Manages shift changes, cribs and/or lunch breaks.
  • Communicates any issues on site that need to be taken into consideration for logistics planning.
  • Manages operators effectively through clear communication, organizes work structures, including monitoring fatigue.
  • Manages park ups.
  • Manages road access and traffic within pit.
  • Obtains ‘Plan of the day’ and contingencies from the Grade Controller.
  • Prioritize work based on the ‘Plan of the day’ and site requirements.
  • Reviews logistics plan to achieve required produce grade and tonnes.
  • Assists in contingency planning in case of breakdowns.
  • Monitors mine conditions and advises adjustments to mine control to optimize the logistics plan based on changed conditions.
  • Coordinates refuelling.
  • Implements unlocking scenarios and direct Pit Supervisors where required
  • Validates on shift data collected by the MM&C systems to ensure it is accurate
  • Manages tyre TKPH to assist in extending tyre life
  • Logs equipment downtime and effectively communicate between maintenance, fixed plant and mining to improve utilization of manpower and equipment

What you will need for this role

  • Undergraduate or equivalent or higher education obtained through degrees or diplomas from academic college or universities.
  • Information technology or Mining engineering background is preferred or discipline relevant to the performs function.
  • Relevant experience, or otherwise the significant practical experience and on the job training.
  • Be a Team player
