The opportunity
We are looking for one ( 1) Auto Electrician Load and Haul Maintenance in Oyu Tolgoi Underground Operations – Mobile Maintenance Department based at Oyu Tolgoi mine site with roster of 2 weeks on and 2 week off. This role is 1-year fixed term contract.
The Underground Road Train/Mercedes Benz Auto Electrician plays a pivotal role in ensuring the optimal performance and safety of road trains, crucial vehicles for transporting ore. The primary objective of this position is to install, maintain, diagnose, and repair electrical systems within road trains, aiming to improve the overall efficiency and reliability of these heavy-duty vehicles. By conducting preventive maintenance, addressing electrical faults, and strictly adhering to safety standards, the Road Train/Mercedes Benz Auto Electrician actively contributes to the seamless operation of ore transport, safeguarding both the vehicles and operators.
What the role entails
- Ensure a safe working environment for the Load and Haul Maintenance team, exhibiting personal commitment to safety.
- Promote the use of the Management of Change process for electrical system modifications.
- Act as a technical leader, developing the expertise of the team in auto electrical systems.
- Participate in improvement initiatives related to auto electrical systems.
- Use methods like RCA and Fish bone to understand and address electrical failures.
- Support projects related to operational readiness and engineering design reviews for auto electrical systems.
- Set and work towards achieving performance goals and objectives related to the road train’s electrical systems.

What you will need for this role
- Post-secondary or equivalent education obtained through degrees, certificates (e.g. apprenticeship or trades certificate) or diplomas from academic or vocational training centres.
- At least 3 years relevant auto electrical maintenance experience.
- Team leading, effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Matured safety commitment and awareness.
- Estaplished success at improving equipment availability and reliability.
- Demonstrated application of continuous improvement.
- Knowledge and experience of SAP and RTBS systems.
- Ablility to communicate effectively in Mongolian and English
