The opportunity

We are looking for One (1)  Advisor Material  Management in Oyu Tolgoi LLCAsset Management Department based Ulaanbaatar Office and Oyu Tolgoi Site with 50/50.

Supports to identify the necessary spares and other inputs for Asset Management activities, then ensures the process that they are acquired, stored, staged, returned, and disposed appropriately. Provides support in assessing spare criticality and verification and optimization of storage procedures and material management 

What the role entails:

  • Develop, recommend, and implement strategies for improving tyre and rim usage
  • Develop tyre management program including acquisition, delivery, storage and monitor as the primary focus.
  • To simplify and standardize material management process to deliver business efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Conduct AM Material Management CSA periodically across the site to ensure the procedures are in place and followed sustainably.
  • Implement best practices of Material Management at OT
  • Support material stock management across the site when required.
  • Support tyre/rim related tenders and provide technical justification (type, consumption, specifications etc.) to Sourcing
  • Identify and implement defect elimination opportunities related to material management in an effort to reduce maintenance and operating costs.
  • To educate the material management stakeholders about the necessary material management requirements.
  • Support the operational teams to develop annual tyre usage forecasts
  • Review inventory and supply chain to ensure forecast tyre needs will be meet
  • Apply business improvement tools to drive productivity improvement projects in maintenance teams
  • To develop monthly performance reports and their further review and analyze for improvement opportunities for Materials Management.
  • Provide technical assistance as required to support tyre life improvement projects or other cost reduction initiatives
  • Liaise with external experts (other Rio Tinto sites & G&I) to provide technical expertise and advice to end users and to ensure leading tyre practices are embedded at Oyu Tolgoi
  • To complete or support team in delivering additional tasks or assignments as assigned by leaders

What you will need for this role

  • Undergraduate or equivalent or higher education obtained through degrees or diplomas from academic college or universities.
  • Maintenance Engineers, Finance or relevant discipline is preferable.
  • At least 3 years relevant experience, or otherwise the significant practical experience and on the job training.
  • Be a Team player
