 The opportunity

We are looking for One (1) Advisor Contractor Management in Oyu Tolgoi LLCProcurement Department based Oyu Tolgoi Site with 7 days on and 7 days off.

The purpose of this field-based role is to engage closely and deliver uplift in operational Underground (UG) leaders skills, drive year-on-year improvement in OT CMX score and deliver key improvement projects

What the role entails:

  • Provide support and advice to all operations teams including UG to effectively manage contractors
  • Coach and mentor, designated leaders/company representatives and contractors to ensure compliance with HSEQ, CM policies, processes, and procedures
  • Coordination of in-field audits of service providers against contract management governance for the division, as required
  • Provide support and advice in the development of new policies, procedures and systems related to contractor management
  • Custodian of Contractor Management divisional metrics
  • Participate in monthly, quarterly, and other contractual performance reviews, as required
  • Liaison between OT Procurement (OTP) and operations
  • Job pack compliance auditing
  • Mentoring and development within the division to facilitate best practice contractor management
  • Collaborate with other product groups in developing global best practices around Contractor Management
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with leaders and employees/ contractors
  • Identifying new methods of work to improve the CM
  • Assist in identifying CM initiatives for the business in relation to contractor management
  • Working with industry experts in the area of contractor management through better ways of identifying and managing risk
  • OT contractor management documentation and training content refresh, delivery to stakeholders
  • Define and streamline the system assurance process, including the safety, cost and productivity KPIs to drive desired outcomes.
  • Management of the delivery program and change to leave a sustainable result, including systems, organization, and skills uplift
  • Assembly of support resources to achieve the work within the organization
  • In addition to the core work above, the role will also deliver improvements in contractor management area.

What you will need for this role         

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Contract Management, Project Management or relevant discipline.
  • At least 3 years of field/supervisory experience, or otherwise the significant practical experience and on the job training.
  • Able to Frontline leadership experience, including contractor management.
  • Track record of managing projects and delivering cost/safety improvements.
  • Strong communication skills, problem solving and good analytical skills.
  • Mongolian and English language proficiency both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite and data analysis
