The opportunity
We are looking for One (1) Student Intern in Oyu Tolgoi LLC – Surface Operations – Mine Operations Department based Oyu Tolgoi Site with 14 days on and 14 days off. 3 months internship programme
This internship programme is intended for high-performing students who wants to understand how world class mining business operates while gaining a first-hand experience of corporate culture. Interning for the Education Support team will provide great exposure to internal activities in one of the most dynamic and best performing units in the business. This opportunity will also enable the intern student to develop their interpersonal skills, teamwork and potentially help them to discover their career pathways and future aspirations.
What the role entails:
- Assist in developing a safety culture whilst ensuring that all work undertaken in areas of responsibility comply with existing safety legislation and is in full compliance with applicable HSE standards.
- Ensure the safety of own and colleagues and that risks are identified, mitigated and managed
- Active participation in workplace inspection
- Proactive Active participation in workplace inspection
- Operational Planning
- Assist in the development, completion, review of mine and tailings construction short-range plans in coordination planning teams, operations engineers, supervisors.
- Support to reconciliate production data – equipment time metrics, productivity and performance.
- Contribute to planning, scheduling and coordination of operational activities – Equipment movement, road maintenance, cable work, mine infrastructure relocation etc.,
- Deliver required verifications to ensure conformance to mining and tailings construction design, standards and procedures.
- Provide technical support to Load & Haul, Drill & Blast, Tailings Construction operations team by executing ad-hoc analysis to protect and improve production plan, to optimize process efficiency and to sustain safety and operating practices.
- Contribute to delivery of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead or support management (developing, reviewing and revising) of operating procedures and documents.

What you will need for this role
- Undergraduate or equivalent education being obtained through academic college or universities.
- Pursuing bachelor’s degree in Mining engineering, Data Analytics
