The opportunity

We are looking for one ( 1) Writer Technical in Oyu Tolgoi LLC – Underground Operation – Operational Readiness department based at Ulaanbaatar with roster 5 days on and 2 days off. It is one /1/-year fixed term opportunity.

The purpose of this role is to develop internal procedural documents in proficient quality, including standard work procedures for maintenance and operations, and equipment pre-start checklist with relevance to site, to enable operators and maintainers to succinctly understand how to complete the task safely and without incident.

What the role entails

Operational delivery:

  • Develop and Update Standard Working Procedures and assure quality is in high standard.
  • Gather and record information effectively from team members, users, and management. Attend related meetings to identify and change documentation
  • Explain complex ideas and technical systems to readers and stakeholders using written and oral communication skills.
  • Team player – must be able to work with both the operational and maintenance personnel with minimal supervision.
  • Manage documentation standards, methods, and practices.
  • Develop training materials, and other product and departmental support materials as required.
  • Draft and update procedures, control plans for equipment, facilities and underground mining operations.
  • Register and review documentation records from project completions.
  • Record documentation reports orderly and punctual.
  • Manage priorities to meet project schedules.
  • Report documentation progress to stakeholders.

What you will need for this role

  • Bachelor or higher degree in Engineering, Mining, Journalism, Communications or relevant discipline.
  • At least 2 years relevant experience in writing and using technical documents, or otherwise the significant practical experience and on the job training.
  • Proficiency in English – both orally and in written form.
  • Strong ability in Microsoft Office programs with an ability to produce high-quality documents using (in particular) Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
