We work with relevant organisations to strengthen local health services, improve traffic safety and support youth development. To improve health care service accessibility and quality for the herder community, we have provided mobile medical equipment as part of the Healthy Herder and Mobile Technology programmes. These programmes were extended with funding from the Gobi Oyu Development Support Fund (Gobi Oyu DSF), and implemented in cooperation with the inter-soum hospital in Khanbogd soum, to provide even more extensive health services to herders.
The Gobi Oyu DSF, UNFPA, UNICEF, Australian Embassy and WHO support a four-year Integrated Support Programme for Women and Youth Health in Umnugovi aimag. The programme is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Health, Umnugovi aimag administration and health department, regional diagnostic and treatment centre and soum health centres.
A Youth Development Programme implemented in Khanbogd soum between 2015 and 2021. As part of the programme, a Youth Development Centre and a Youth Friendly Clinic were established at the inter-soum hospital. Programmes such as the Youth Start-up Business Promotion Programme, Young Herders Support Programme, and Target Youth Groups Support Programme have also been successfully implemented.
