In 2018, Umnugobi Aimag, Deutsche Gesellschaft Für Internationale Zusammenarbeit, Oyu Tolgoi LLC and Gobi Oyu Development Fund jointly launched a SME Capacity Building Joint Program, at the initiative of Umnugobi Aimag. Under this Joint Program, Business Innovation and Development Centers were established in Dalanzadgad and Ulaanbaatar cities in 2018, which aims at providing necessary trainings and business consulting services to business entrepreneurs.
Under the Capacity Building Joint Program, a total of 16 cooperatives operating in Umnugobi Aimag have been evaluated and involved in capacity building trainings for 6 months. The cooperatives trained in the Business Innovation and Development Centers achieved many positive results, such as the improved capacity, ability to prepare financial statements, development of long-term action plans, and planning and implementation of production expansion.
