The opportunity

We are looking for one ( 1) Advisor Shutdown Planning in Oyu Tolgoi LLC Underground Mobile Maintenance department based at Oyu Tolgoi mine site with roster 14 days on and 14 days off.

The primary purpose of this role is The Advisor shutdown role will take ownership for all the management activities to ensure that the planning, scheduling, and execution of the offsite shutdown program is delivered within the expected objectives of quality, cost and duration.

What the role entails

  • Optimize and scrutinize shutdown scopes developed by shutdown planner and/or rebuild proposals direct from OEM
  • Balance equipment safety, cost and performance outcomes using in-field experience on machines and best practice maintenance strategies
  • QA/QC function. Ensures OEM partners are providing a quality product.
  • Identify and drive cost savings through accurate forecasting & management of all shutdown costs
  • Influence team members and our contract partners to generate improvement ideas
  • Elevate issues affecting the team, task completion, logistical issues, HR issues etc.
  • Lead meetings from shut commencement through to completion by ensuring all task owners understand and comply with the scope of work and expectations
  • Performs post-shutdown reviews, reporting on duration, cost and performance outcomes resulting from the shutdown investment.

What you will need for this role

  • Undergraduate or equivalent or higher education obtained through degrees or diplomas from academic college or universities.
  • Undergraduate qualification or higher in an engineering, business, or science discipline.
  • Postgraduate qualification in a business discipline.
  • At least 5 years experience in the mining industry with exposure to the operation and/or maintenance of Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME)
  • Ability to speak, read and write English at a functional level is a requirement.
  • Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word etc.)
