The opportunity

We are looking for one (1) Advisor Rehabilitation in Oyu Tolgoi LLC HSESC – Environment and Biodiversity department based at Oyu Tolgoi mine with the roster of 14 days on and 7 days off.

The purpose of this role is to provide frontline leadership and ensure the effective and consistent delivery of rehabilitation services and support HSEC support activities of the functional area in line with the company policies and procedures to achieve the department’s objectives and targeted plan.

What the role entails

  • Support the Specialist Land & Rehabilitation in the delivery of land disturbance and rehabilitation
  • Oversite of the Land Disturbance Procedure (LDP) and coordination site delivery of the topsoil and rehabilitation procedures
  • Support rehabilitation study trials, Waste rock rehabilitation planning, priority plant mitigation activities
  • Manage topsoil inventory to provide effective management and conservation of topsoil resources
  • Assist in the delivery of progressive rehabilitation
  • Coordinate with Environment GIS officer on quarterly review of Asset Retirement Obligation (ARO) update, to ensure accuracy of ARO accounting
  • Provide support and coordinate post rehabilitation monitoring
  • Conduct specialized research in rehabilitation methods to improve rehabilitation programs
  • Coordinate the annual review of the rehabilitation progress and evaluation of methods
  • Preparation of annual reports (internal and external) as required
  • Participation in annual audits (internal and external)

What you will need for this role

  • Bachelor degree and above in Science, Engineering, Health, Safety, Environment or relevant discipline
  • At least 5 years relevant experience, or otherwise the significant practical experience and on the job training
  • Strong communications and presentation skills
  • Excellent knowledge in English, both written and oral
  • Good knowledge and usage of MS office software; Macros/VBA and Add ins
